We give our O.I. speech tomorrow in my public speaking class. We had to go through a list of the hundred most famous speeches over the last century and pick 2-3 out of one of the speeches to read from. I chose the I have a dream speech. I love that speech.

I was going through some of Martin Luther King Jr’s speeches though, most I had read or heard, some I hadn’t. I cam across his final speech, the “I’ve been to the Mountain top speech,” I had heard it before, but I didn’t know it was his final speech. Reading the last part of that speech and knowing that the next day was his last day just really touched me.

He truly was a man with a dream and he went after it with everything in him. He gave his life for that dream. This isn’t something new or something everyone hasn’t heard before, but I wanted to say it. I wanted to say that I think he was a great man and that he inspires me. He lived for his dream and even though he knew he might now live to see everything he wanted to come to pass, he just wanted to do whatever he could.

So in honor of him I am posting the last paragraph of his last speech. “I’ve been to the Mountaintop.” I am also posting a link to the youtube video of it.

Well, I don’t know what will happen now. We’ve got some difficult days ahead. But it doesn’t matter with me now. Because I’ve been to the mountaintop. And I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land. And I’m happy, tonight. I’m not worried about anything. I’m not fearing any man. Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord.

I just finished watching the O.C. series finale. Now i’m not like, Hooked on the o.c. or anything, but whenever I see a series finale I get all chocked up and a tad sad. I have been watching th o.c. seasons lately and have grown to enjoy the show, so it was more sad than just like a regular finale. *sigh*

Goodbye o.c. you made me chuckle and brought forth the cheezy smile. I will miss you.

question 3) Okay so for those of you who believe in God. What are the consequences of this belief? (A) If you’re are right? (B) If you’re wrong?

Question 4) Same as question 3 but for those who don’t believe in God.

For question 3 and 4. just like list how your life would be affected if you found out you were right or wrong in your belief. How your lifestyle would change or how your lifestyle is because of the belief you have. Just stuff like that.

While i’m not the biggest supporter of V-day, I do like the idea of it. I mean honestly we should spend everyday showing the people in our lives how much we love them and telling them how special they are to us. This rarely happens however, we forget, there’s no time, people are afraid of putting themselves out there. There is reason upon reason for why people are surrounded by family and friends yet go each day not ‘feelin the love’. I find this very sad. People deserve to hear they’re special and cared about by those around them.

Anyway, so whatever the reason that this didn’t happen the way that it should’ve I think V-day is a big reminder for people to ’share the Love’!

So to my friends, I love you very very much. You are each very special to me.

Lessons

I’ve learned a lot over the past year. I’m sure this list won’t name all of my ‘lessons’ but it has some of the more important ones.

~I’ve learned that I think i’m really smart and I like how I view people, situations, and the world. I may not know everything about everything, but when it comes to what is important to me I am very smart.

~I’m continuing to learn that I am an Awesome person and I should never let anyone make me feel like i’m not. I like myself, I like my sense of humor, my love for people, everything. There is no one exactly like me and I’m happy with how i’ve turned out.

~ I’m learning that I can’t take care of everyone anymore. I can’t always put the people I love ahead of me. I can’t be who everyone wants me to be and I just have to trust God to take care of everything.

~ I’m learning how to not procrastinate so much

~I’ve learned that being able to live your life like nothing affects you and being able to let everything roll off your back doesn’t always mean you’re a stronger person.

~ You can’t hide from bad things that have happened, working through those things and acknowledging them can chip away a lot of ugliness you didn’t realize you had.

~I’ve learned on a much deeper level that God doesn’t expect me to be perfect and just how much I love him.

~ I’ve learned to start going after what I want, and that it’s okay to be afraid sometimes. It’s what I do in spite of it that matters.

Yay! Yesterday I got my acceptance letter for NCU. I’m so relieved and excited and…. lots of stuff.

I’m goingto North Central University! This Fall i’m going to be living in Minnesota!

Yes! My sea mokeys are getting bigger! Today I go to feed them and give them oxygen. They got so excited, it was so cute. Awww…my lil sea monkeys.

Oh! Guess what! We had our Philosophy test today and it was hard, but she said in yesterdays class that 3/4ths of the class failed, but I got an A. Plus we had an essay and she said we wouldn’t, but I got it right. i’m so happy.

Before the test though, she wrote on the board that, there= place, their= People, They’re= they are, too= can you sub. also. She said to capitalize at the beginning of a sentance and use periods and stuff. it was weird.

I’m just very relieved and happy.

My party is tomorrow. i’m pretty stoked about that.

Hmmm… I’ve been reading a book series called: “The Big Empty” by: J.B. Stephens

I highly recommend it! it’s very cool and has a lot of action and such in it.

I’m other news, I do NOT understand Biology. *sigh* I try my darndest, but I don’t get it. I think i’m gonna have Shirley help me with it. Everyone’s gotta be bad at something I suppose. lol.

I have my 1st Philosophy test of the semester. It’s over a lot of material. *sigh* I can’t wait until this semester is over.

This semester is full of classes, I either don’t like, don’t understand, or make me nervous.

I suppose it will all be good for me. That’s what I tell myself anyway.

In other news, Nikki’s going to be able to make it to my party thing on Saturday. I’m very excited.

Hmmm… I should take down our Christmas tree… Yea… lol.

My speech today went really well. Makes me happy! I just need to learn to talk slower, lol.

Nikki said it was really good too. She’s so fun, I hang out with her every tuesay in between our classes. She should be able to come Saturday. I’m so excited! She’s so great. She like just like me. It’s cool.

Okay, so we have a heater. The thing that’s supposed to heat our house right??? YES! we do, so use it for goodness sakes! and while you’re at it, put the stupit vent in my room.

I’ve tolerated my bedroom having no vents for a long time now. I just dont’ wanna like add another thing on to my dad’s busy schedule, but seriously, i’m so cold. I mean, i’m pretty sure you could put me outside and I would be warmer.

I think I almost lost my nose to frost bite last night. I guess compared to that, the rest of the house is warm, but it’s not, it’s just a lesser level of the cold that has become my life.

What happened to those little pictures of the country house with it’s fireplace and beyond comfy sofa, with the little throw blanket that i can touch, with the cup of hot chocolate and a really good book.

but no, I put off sleep longer than i should because i’m not sure that I want to face the cold that is my bedroom.

Maybe i’m being selfish and asking to much, I mean spring is around the cornor… Right? Oh sweet goodness, I hope so!

I’m just so cold… i just wanna be warm. Will school be warm? I hope so. Oh no! I am looking forward to school so I can mooch the warmth! OH! I’m a heat whore.

I seriously need to have a discussion with my daddy, and suggest making the Calfee world a warmer place.

So, i’ve learned some things lately.

I have learned that while I agree with some of what Hilary Clinton says, I do not really like her. I also think she’s not very realistic in some of her ideas.

As you already read I have found that Sea Monkeys, don’t really look like monkeys.

I have learned that revolutions can get very messy

I found that I really miss talking about church, God, and church issues

I found that I miss being involved with youth and ministry related activities on a regular basis

I figured out that procrastinating on writing a paper about getting motived and not procrastinating is well… sad, lol

I found that I actually kinda enjoyed watching the Superbowl, while I do not think I will become a regular fan or anything, I still had a good time

I figured out that I may not be able to answer things and questions on the spot but if you give me time I can come up with really good answers

I think the Mind and the Brain are different

I found that it frustrates me when someone can walk into a room and say things like, “everything is relative” and “there is no truth” and can wow a classroom full of students with their deep thinking and new ideas. When in all reality that person is a total contradiction and just sidesteps everything.

I really dont’ like when people are mean just for the fun of it, and disregard other people’s feelings

I totally know what an ellipsis is!

I think the people in indy are being dumb and making very stupid decisions, and everyone is seeing them make those bad choices on tv right now.

I dicovered that I kinda like math, but i’m bad at Biology

While there is more that I have learned i’m excited that i’m trying to step out of the box of what I know and learn new things.

Well, now I have shared my new knowledge or opinions or whatever with you all. i’m going to go to sleep, acsue I need to learn how to get motivated and not procrastinate tomorrow.
